

Andrea Silecchia, age 83, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Monday, February 19, 2024. Born in Acquaviva delle Fonti, Italy, in 1940, Andrea's journey was one marked by resilience, love, and the pursuit of the American dream. Andrea met the love of his life, Grace, in Italy. United in marriage, they embarked on a new adventure, moving to the United States in 1967 and creating a family together. Andrea retired from General Motors after 30 years. Becoming an American Citizen was one of Andrea’s proudest achievements.
An accomplished artist, Andrea's creativity knew no bounds. He found solace and joy in expressing himself through the medium of paint, creating vivid and captivating works of art. Beyond his artistic pursuits, Andrea was a skilled craftsman who took pleasure in the art of furniture repair.
A devout parishioner at St. Gerard Catholic Church, Andrea found comfort and strength in his faith. His presence was a source of inspiration within the community, and his contributions to the church will be remembered with gratitude.
Andrea was the beloved husband of the late Grace Silecchia; loving father of Sandra (William) Campbell, Andrew Silecchia and the late Michael Silecchia; cherished grandfather of Joseph Campbell and Alexandria Campbell; dear brother of the late Rosalia of Italy; and fond uncle and cousin to many.
A visitation for Andrea will be held Wednesday, March 6, 2024 from 5pm to 7pm at Gorsline Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw St. Lansing, MI 48917 with a Rosary to begin at 6:00pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, March 7, 2024 at 1:30pm with a visitation one hour prior at St. Gerard Catholic Church 4437 W Willow Hwy Lansing, MI 48917. Interment to follow at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital in memory of Andrea.
