Arlene Edna Brooks

Lansing, Michigan

Arlene Edna Brooks was born on September 16, 1918 in Lansing, the daughter of the late Albert and Wilma Bauerle, and passed away on March 9, 2015 at the age of 96. She was a lifelong Lansing resident, graduating from Eastern High School in 1936 and Acme Business College in 1938. She worked for the Lansing Public School District. Arlene married James N. Brooks in 1941. She was preceded in death by her husband, James and brother, Delos Bauerle. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughter, Mary Sue Brooks; son, Douglas (Linda) Brooks; granddaughter, Jennifer (Charles) Strezo; and great grandson, Reid Strezo. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, March 13, 2015 at Grace United Methodist Church, 1900 Boston Blvd., Lansing, MI 48910. The family will receive friends from 2:00~4:00 and 6:00~8:00 PM on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing and one hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will be at Deepdale Memorial Gardens, Lansing, MI. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Grace United Methodist Church (Memorial Fund) in memory of Arlene. The family is being served by Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing Chapel.
