Betty Jean Swift

Betty Jean Swift, 81, beloved mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, went home to her Lord on December 15, 2019 surrounded by family. She was born September 13, 1938 to Lauren Franklin and Arvilla Pauline (Norton) Boyer in Charlotte, MI. She attended and graduated from Charlotte High School Class of 1956. She married the love of her life, Paul Henry Swift, on February 14, 1959. They spent 53 years together until he preceded her in death on July 23, 2012. Betty enjoyed traveling, walking and working with horses. Her greatest joy was spending time with family, friends and neighbors.

Preceding her in death along with her husband, Paul were her parents, Lauren Boyer and Arvilla (Norton) (Boyer) Ruhf; step-father, Lawrence Ruhf; and sister and brother-in-law, Shirley and Don Lewis. Surviving are her siblings, Sally (Mike) Brandt, Lawrence (Marie) Ruhf, Earl Ruhf, and Lewis (Sally) Ruhf; her children, Randy Swift, Ronda (David) Whiting, Rick (Kim) Swift, Robin (Jim) Heney; grandchildren, Anna (Matt) Bohnet, Jeanna (Jeremy) Norris, Sara (Brandon) Allison, Jesse (Chelsea) James, Jeffery Swift, Cody (Desiree) James, Alan Swift, Patricia Whiting, Toree Heney, and Andrew Swift; 11 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Memorial Gathering will be 6-8 PM Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.
