Bonnie Lou Williams

“To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord” (2 Corinthians 5:8).

Since she has accepted Christ as her savior, Bonnie at the age of 89, was accompanied by a band of angels as her spirit left this world and entered Heaven on December 14th, 2020. Now she is worshiping at the feet of Jesus, her Savior and best friend.

Bonnie was employed as a secretary all of her working years at MSU and many Lansing Schools. She spent much of her spare time preparing lessons for children at church. At home she spent many hours on her knees in prayer. Her faithful and loving husband (Richard) of 63 years preceded her in death in 2016 and she missed him greatly.

Those who remain to rejoice in her homegoing are her children, Brent, Wendy (Dan), grandchildren Cali (Brent) Rushton, Zach, Jason, Emily and Jamie, who all loved their Nana.

She was blessed to have 5 great-grandchildren Jack, Luke, Brock, Jaxson and Karter. They liked to call her “Old Nana.” She has one sister Doris Jean Welch, two sisters-in-law Betty Roloff and Marilyn Rudd. Many special nieces and nephews and their families whom she loved dearly.

She was preceded in death by her precious and wonderful mother, Estella Sprague, her three sisters and spouses Aletha Sprague, Leona (Gene) Hashley, June (Ken) Brainerd and nephews Larry Hashley and Roger Brainerd.

Bonnie often said, “if any good was accomplished through my lifetime, I give all of the thanks and glory to Jesus, my Savior and Friend, for without HIM I could do nothing.

We love you Mom and miss you greatly, but one day we will meet you at the Eastern Gate in Heaven.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday July 18, 2021 at 2:00 pm at South Church with a visitation beginning at 1pm.
