Bruce Robert McDowell

Born July 7, 1953 in Detroit, the son of the late Robert and Mildred (Link) McDowell, passed away on August 1, 2012 at the age of 59. Bruce graduated from Cooley High School in 1971 and later attended MSU. He was the owner operator of B & M Videos. Bruce was an avid gun collector, especially antique guns and enjoyed target shooting. He was passionate about animals, nature, conservation and camping. He was committed to his annual backpacking hikes. Bruce was preceded in death by his parents; and his special great aunt, Grace McDowell. Surviving to cherish his memory are his loving partner of 35 years, Marilyn Pierce; sisters, Barbara (Thomas) Wolf and Kathy Frantz; two nephews; one niece; two great nieces and his extended family the Brecheisen’s. A memorial service will be held at a later date. *Celebration of Life" will be held Saturday, September 22, 2012, Howell Conference and Nature Center, 1005 Triangle Lake Road, Howell, MI 48843. It will be held at the Lakeview Lodge and you can stop at the Welcome Center for directions or follow the signs. Please bring a dish to pass and your own beverages. Hamburgers, hot dogs, pop and bottled water will be provided. Dress is casual and please bring a story or memory of Bruce to share.
