Bruce Edward Wendland, age 94, passed away December 31, 2024. He was born September 14, 1930 in Detroit to parents Rudolph and Irene (Syrett) Wendland. After graduating from Northville High School in 1948, he joined the Army and proudly served during the Korean War. In 1956, he married Zaide Larson. He attended Michigan State University, worked at Diamond Reo Motors and later drove bus for Capital Area Transportation Authority where he retired in 2002.
He is survived by his children Georgia (Marc) Therrien, Rebecca (Glenn) Liptack, Melinda (Michael) Greenlees and Amanda (Kevin) Lipocky; grandchildren Abigail, Millicent, Pamela, Aaron, Jonathan and Samantha; great-grandchildren Henrik, Abigail, Caleb and Samson; sisters Phyllis Allen and Carol Renner and many nieces and nephews. Bruce is preceded in death by his wife Zaide, his parents and his siblings Orville, Doris, Arlene, Ronald, June and Martha.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
