Cathy Joan Opanasenko-Rosales

Cathy Joan Opanasenko-Rosales, age 61 of Lansing, passed away at her home on December 25, 2025. She was born June 26, 1964, and grew up in the Lansing area with weekends in Bay Port, Michigan. She graduated from Sexton High School in 1982. Cathy was a homemaker throughout her lifetime.

She also enjoyed flower gardening, reading, crocheting, and many other crafts. Cathy was a loving mother and sister, and loved her granddaughters, Ryleigh and Oaklyn, with all her heart. Cathy was a Christian and attended Immanuel Community Reformed Church in Lansing with her close friend Jill Marie South.

Cathy is survived by two sons, Cody (Holly) Rosales of Lansing, and Zachary (Shay) Rosales of Eaton Rapids; two granddaughters, Ryleigh Rosales and Oaklyn Rosales; three brothers, Larry (Phung) Opanasenko of Raleigh, NC, Terry Opanasenko of Bath, and Michael (Anne) Opanasenko of Owosso; two sisters, Linda (Alan) Fuller of Hersey, and Brenda Currie of Greensboro, NC; lifelong friend, Faith Ann Perry of Sault Ste Marie, who was closer than a sister; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, and a great-niece. Cathy was especially close to Aunt Geraldine and Aunt Elaine, whom she called "Ma-Elaine." Cathy also had half-siblings, Christopher Clark of Holt, and Joan Clark of Lawrence, KS.

She was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Michael; a daughter, Elijah-Jane; a brother, Gary Opanasenko; and parents, Mitchell and Marjorie Opanasenko.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
