

She was born on January 27, 1956, to Anthony and Sally (Luft) Jasper. Growing up on the Jasper family farm in Carney, Michigan, Colleen attended the Carney-Nadeau School and graduated in 1974 as valedictorian of her class, reflecting her lifelong dedication to learning and excellence.
Colleen is survived by her sisters, Cynthia (Paul Milenkovic) Jasper, Connie Baragar, and Carolyn (Steve) Wendrick; brothers, Henry (Diane) Jasper, Mark (Brenda) Jasper, and Donald (Karen) Jasper. She was a loving aunt to nephews, Mark Jasper, John Jasper, Nathan Wendrick, Nicholas Wendrick, Tyler Jasper, Ben Jasper, and nieces Stefanie Klee, Nicole Westphalen, Lucille Dreuth, and Margaret Wolf. Colleen also leaves behind eleven great-nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew. She was known for sending cards and gifts to all her young relatives, always cherishing family connections.
Colleen was preceded in death by her parents, Anthony and Sally Jasper, and her brother, Michael Jasper.
Colleen earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Minnesota. She continued her academic pursuits and obtained a Master’s Degree in Education from Michigan State University. Colleen was an enthusiastic supporter of Spartan football, never missing a chance to cheer for her team.
Colleen dedicated many years of her professional life to the Michigan Department of Community Health, where she served as the Director of Consumer Relations. She was a steadfast advocate for mental health, drawing on her own experiences to bring understanding, compassion, and hope to others.
Travel was one of Colleen’s greatest passions. She explored much of Europe, including Ireland and the UK, and frequently vacationed in Florida, enjoying the beaches and trips to Disney World. Shopping for her many relatives was a favorite activity, in which she found personal satisfaction and joy.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date to honor Colleen’s memory.
