

Minister Cynthia Denise Jackson was born to the late Jack and Rosa Shropshire on November 9, 1954. She was the seventh child born to the Shropshire family which consisted of 13 children. Cynthia was born in Ann Arbor, MI and raised in Sumpter Township. She attended Airport High School in Carleton, MI and graduated in 1972 with honors. Cynthia lived on the family estate and later moved to Lansing, MI to attend Michigan State University, later graduating in 1978. Cynthia lived a simple yet exhilarating life. She loved her family and was loved by many. Cynthia was committed to helping her family as well as others, that later her and her husband became foster parents to 27 foster children. Cynthia lived every moment dedicated to the development of her family and to her ministry within IDMR. She leaves to cherish her life, loving husband, Christopher Jackson; three sons, Kelly (Temea Robertson) Shropshire, Kynon (Mikea Williams) Shropshire, and Korey Shropshire, all of Lansing; daughter, Kristy Jackson of Grand Rapids, MI; stepson, Christopher (Bam Bam) Hart of Inkster, MI; grandchildren, Zaina Floyd, Deja Moore, Kynon Shropshire II, Korey Jackson, Jr., London Kelly Shropshire, and Isreal Shropshire, Brendan Maulden, Christopher Hart, II, Charles “Chuck” Hart, Heaven Hart and Justice Hart. Also surviving are her siblings, Bobby James (Marcia Arnold) Shropshire, Danny Joe Shropshire, Terry Lee Shropshire, Linda Yvette (Everett) Shoats, Lisa Marie (David Rutledge) Shropshire and Pricilla Ann Shropshire. Cynthia was also instrumental in the love nurturing and growth to a host of nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. Special friends Janice Welsh and Eva (Renee) McDuffy and her fellow minister brethren in spirit. She was preceded in death by her father, the late Jack Lovin Shropshire, Sr.; and her mother, the late Rosa Mae (Gillium) Shropshire; six brothers, the late Kenneth W. Shropshire of San Diego, CA, the late Ted Allen Shropshire of Flint, MI, the late Ellis Edward Shropshire, Sr. of Belleville, MI, the late Ambrose Keith Shropshire of Beaumont, TX, and the late Jack Lovin Shropshire, Jr. of Belleville, MI; one sister, Sharon Ann Shropshire of Belleville, MI; infant brother, Michael David Shropshire of Ypsilanti, MI; niece Nicloe Terese Shropshire of Belleville, MI; nephew Donelle Scandrick (Mente) of Flint, MI. Her Home Going Service will be held on Monday, January 14th with viewing beginning at 10:00 am and funeral services at 12:00 pm. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI with Minister Terry Welsh officiating. Interment will take place at Evergreen Cemetery, 1709 E. Mt. Hope, Lansing. Memorial contributions to the wishes of the family.
