

Dolores (Heimsoth) Lewandowski died February 10, 2023 in Grand Ledge, Michigan, and now rests peacefully in the welcoming arms of her Heavenly Father. Dolores was born October 24, 1936 in Sterling, Colorado. She met Ted Lewandowski in Twin Falls, Idaho and they were married August 18, 1958 in Derby, Colorado. After starting their life in Nyssa, Oregon, they moved to Saginaw, Michigan, where they lived for 40 years. They moved to the Lansing area 19 years ago. They were married for 52 years until his passing in 2010.
Dolores attended Concordia Teachers College of Seward, Nebraska, where she received her degree in education, later receiving her Master's Degree while in Saginaw, Michigan. She enjoyed a long career as an elementary teacher at Shields Elementary. She enjoyed quilting, traveling, and would make beautiful quilts for family members.
Dolores loved her Savior, Jesus Christ, and her family. While we celebrate that she is in heaven with many family members and friends, her family here on earth will greatly miss her. Mourning her passing are her 3 children: Eilene (Kevin) Kane of Onekama, Steven (Linda) Lewandowski of St. Johns, and Carol (Tim) Pickott of Eaton Rapids; 4 grandchildren: Kristen, Jon, Allison, Jared; and 3 great-grandchildren: Charlotte, Gabrielle, and Brandon.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 16, 11:00 a.m. at Hope Lutheran Church in Dewitt with Rev. Sikora officiating. Visitation will be held Wednesday, February 15, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes - Lansing Chapel, 900 East Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912.
In lieu of flowers the Lewandowski family asks for donations be made in Dolores’s name to Hope Lutheran Church, 1180 Herbison Road, DeWitt, MI 48820.
