Age 72, our deeply genuine father, grandfather, companion, and brother, passed away August 21, 2016. Born February 26, 1944 in Seattle, WA. Don earned his Bachelor's degree in Architecture from U of M and belonged to the Sigma Nu Fraternity, and he later earned his Master's Degree. Don, a third generation architect, was an architect all of his life. He enjoyed crossword puzzles, hunting, fishing, astronomy, reading and continue learning new things. He loved being outdoors and spending time at his cabin on Stuart Lake. He was a member of Rotary, the Watertown Township Planning Commission, treasurer of A.I.A., and St. David's Episcopal Church. He was devoted to his family and God.
Surviving are his 3 children Kim (Doug) Reinsch, Jill (Chris) Ham, and Chad (Valerie) Hartwick; 6 grandchildren, Madz and Morgan Ham, Grace and Caleb Reinsch, and Sophie and Clayton Hartwick; his fiancé, Bethany Clarke and her children Christopher (Lizzy) Penney, Scott (Pam) Penney, and Sara (Mark) McAnally and 6 grandchildren; sister, Dianne (John) Weaver; former wife, Paula (Bill) Noe; and many other family members and friends. Don was preceded in death by his parents, Bruce M. and Sally A. Hartwick.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 P.M. Thursday, and 10-11 A.M. Friday with the celebration of Don's Life at 11:00 A.M. Friday, August 26, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing.
