Donald enjoyed taking RV trips with his friends and attending Gospel Music concerts. He was an avid bowler and liked to take airplane rides with his dear friend, Ernie, who was a pilot in World War II. Nothing was more important to Donald than his family, including his dog, Daisy. He will be deeply missed and loved by all who knew him.
Donald was the beloved husband of the late Martha Schairer; loving father of Debra (late Douglas) Kinney and Mark Schairer; cherished grandfather of James (Stephanie) Kinney, Melissa (Brandon) Witmer and Connor Schairer; great grandfather of Audrey and Beckett; dear brother of the late Richard Schairer; and fond uncle to many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service for Donald will be held Thursday, April 27, 2023 at 2:00pm with a visitation one hour prior at Central Free Methodist Church 828 N Washington Ave Lansing, MI 48906. Memorial contributions may be made to Central Free Methodist Church.
