Donald Wayne Wiley, 83, born November 19, 1930, passed away at the Craft Home, Holt, MI on January 11, 2014. Don Suffered from Alzheimer’s disease. He was born in Lansing, MI to Elwin and Viola Wiley. Don grew up in Mason and graduated from Mason High School in 1949. He was retired from Sparrow Hospital. He lived a very active life, spending a great deal of time at Bear Lake, Grayling, MI. Don was a photographer with a focus on nature and animals. He was a Michigan State sports fan, especially hockey. He was preceded in death by his good friend, Gerald Guinup, and faithful dog, Billy. Surviving with good memories are his sister, Helen Ware, of Mason; nephews, Mike Ware of Mulliken and Phillip Ware (Lorraine) of Okemos; great nieces, Nicole and Courtney; nephew, Bruce Ware (Mary Kathryn), of Mason; great nieces, Hannah and Lily; great nephew, Nicholas; and many cousins.
A memorial service will be held at Mason Community Church, 1000 E. Columbia St., Mason, MI on Thursday, January 16, 2014. Meet with the family at 10:30 AM; the service will begin at 11:00 AM with lunch to follow. Donations may be made to Grace Hospice.
