Donna Lee Richey

Donna Lee Richey, age 79, of Lansing, Michigan passed away on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. Donna was born December 2, 1942, in Lansing, the daughter of Harold and Hazel McCally. She graduated from Eastern High School in 1960 where she played in the marching band. For 60 years Donna lived in the Edgemont Park neighborhood, where she raised her family and cultivated life-long friendships with her neighbors. She enjoyed organizing neighborhood get togethers and maintaining those relationships. She was a natural caregiver with a passion for taking care of her family, neighbors and friends.

Donna loved spending time with her late husband, Jerry, at their lake home in "God's Country." She had an avid love for her pets and was known to brag incessantly about her granddogs. Some of her fondest memories were of camping in Mackinac with her family.

Surviving are her children, Mark (Kris) Twichell and Michelle Twichell; beloved grandchildren, Nichole and Lydia; brother, Fred (Beth) McCally; nieces, Debbie (John) Mink and Kay (Dave) Diverde; the entire Richey family; special family members, Patch, Phillip Michael Thomas, Sami Sue, and Sophie.

A funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Monday, April 11, 2022 at Gorsline-Runciman Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw, with visitation from 10:00am until the time of service. Private interment will follow. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions are suggested to Capital Area Humane Society.
