Donna Virgilean Van Hove

Donna Virgilean Van Hove was born on April 16th, 1934 and passed away on Saturday June 13, 2015 at the age of 81. She was born in Bay City MI. Preceded in death by her late husband Donald Leo VanHove and her parents Merritt A Hartley and Virgilean E Hartley. Surviving to miss her terribly are her three children, Cheryl Van Hove of Dimondale, Dean Van Hove of Grand Ledge and Darrell Van Hove and wife Sharon of Newville, PA. Granddaughters Tammy Buffington and husband John of Laingsburg. Denise Yanda and husband Glen of Almond, NY. Kara & Brooke Van Hove of Newville, PA . Grandson-Michael Van Hove and wife Azra of Denver CO. Great Grandchildren:Emily & Savannah Buffington, Deadra Zamora & Kyrie David, Izzy David & Zain Van Hove. Also Her brother Merritt Hartley in St Louis MO-Barbara Hartley of Wichita, Kansas- Grandsons, Merritt Jr & wife Flory in California with a son and daughter, Majors Curtis and Sandy Hartley of Omaha, NB, Son Lt's Justin Hartley & wife Stephanie & their son Landon -Daughter Megan Hartley & fiancé Brandon Lewis, Anthony Hartley(deceased) & wife Vicki with 2 sons-Anthony & William-- Gregory Hartley & wife Angie with daughter Rebekah with a darling baby girl.

Donna spent the last several years living in Dimondale with her daughter Cheryl. They "shopped til they dropped" as many of you know! She called her little house in the woods, "her Shangri La" and they could be seen on a rainy evening dancing in the rain on the deck!

Donna's last trip to Darrell and Sharon's in Pennsylvania ended with her falling out of his truck trying to hurry in to shop at Wal Mart! This added one more week to her vacation! But not much shopping as she didn't want to be seen with a black eye.

She was a lovely, generous, caring woman and will be missed by many, I don't think she met anyone, anywhere that didn't like her immediately. She smiled and brought joy to all!

The memorial service to honor Donna will be Thursday June 18, 2015 at 5pm at The Salvation Army Chapel, 525 N. Pennsylvania, Lansing, MI.
