Doris passed away on September 23, 2014 at her residence in Florida. She was born on February 7, 1924 to Mr. and Mrs. George (Minny) Hodgson in Lansing, MI. She was preceded in death by both of her parents; two brothers, Ronald and Arthur Hodgson; 2 sisters, Katherine and Loretta; and son, Dennis Wayne Hayes. She was married to Thurston Franklin Hayes on December 20, 1942. She is survived by her husband, Thurston; 2 daughters, Linda Lee (Larry) Napper and Sherrie Lynn Wellman; 2 sons, Kenneth Ronald Hayes and Thurston Wayne ("Sonny") (Dea) Hayes; 5 grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren and 2 great great-grandchildren. She will be deeply missed by all of her loved ones.

Funeral service is 11:00 AM Tuesday, September 30, 2014 at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing with Pastor James E. Robinson officiating. Visitation will be Monday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM at the funeral home. Interment will be in Deepdale Memorial Park. Donations may be made in Doris' name to the Alzheimer's Association.
