Born December 24, 1913 in Detroit, Michigan, Ed passed away October 26, 2009 at the age of 95. Ed was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years Sally Rondy, and beloved granddaughter Tracy Rondy. He is survived by his four children Ron (Linda) Rondy, Lindy (Don) Hover, Gary (Maureen) Rondy and Gayleen (Mark) Kastner, 9 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Family meant everything to him. Ed left home at the age of 11 to help support his siblings by working on a farm. He moved in with a childless couple that soon became his second family. This experience allowed him to enter into his first entrepreneurial adventure in the grocery-produce business in Detroit. After opening his second store he took his youngest brother in as an equal partner, again extending a helping hand to family. Moving to Mt. Pleasant, the two brothers purchased a beer and wine wholesaling business that they in turn sold to their four sons. Retiring to Lansing to be near their daughters, Ed and Sally continued those close family ties. He will always be loved, admired, respected and missed by his family. Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday, October 30, 2009 at St. Gerard Catholic Church with a visitation from 10-11 at the church, followed by entombment at Deepdale Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Wednesday 5-7 P.M. and Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 with a vigil at 6:00 P.M. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. In lieu of flowers donations may be made in Ed?s name to the Tracy Rondy Memorial Scholarship fund. Friends may sign the online guestbook at www.tiffanyfuneralhome.com
