Elizabeth passed away peacefully on the twentieth of April 2016 at the age 68. She was born to Margaret and Lavern Kowalk on January 27, 1948 in DeWitt, MI and spent her life in the Lansing area.
Her hearty laugh and kind spirit endeared her to many friends. Lizzie was a member of Holy Cross Church and St. Mary Cathedral. She retired from the State of Michigan Lottery Division after many years of service. She loved helping others. She was an avid sports fan, enjoying especially watching MSU sports and the Detroit Tigers. She spent countless hours happily watching sports in every kind of weather.
Lizzie was preceded in death by her husband Herman Reyes, her parents, Margaret and Lavern Kowalk, and Jeff Farhat whom she loved as a son. She is survived by loving family and friends and children that she loved as her own Joey (Jim and Nicole) Farhat, and Jeffrey and Kyle (Jeff and Cara) Oswald; sisters, Peggy Robbins, and Barb Kowalk; brother, Morris Kowalk; and many other family members and friends.
Friends will be received from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 28, at St. Mary Cathedral with a rosary prayed at 9:00 a.m. The Funeral Liturgy will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour Ave., Lansing, MI with Msgr. Bernard Reilly and Fr. Maurice Hayes, O.C.M. Conv. presiding. Rite of committal will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery.
