Ethel Rose Zerkle

Harbor Springs – Formerly of Lansing

Age 91, died April 5, 2012; born June 15, 1920 in Lansing, MI and moved to Harbor Springs in 2007, where she enjoyed living at Perry Farm Village and made many wonderful friendships. She retired from General Motors after 31 years of service and was a longtime member of Emanuel First Evangelical Lutheran Church in Lansing. She vacationed in the Rio Grande Valley in Texas for many years after her retirement. She was preceded in death by the love of her life of 64 years, Ward Zerkle, granddaughter, Debra Ann Zerkle; and sisters, Mildred Riechner and Florence Kenney. Surviving are her son, Tim A. (Lillian) of New Era; daughter, Ann (Ernie) Mueller of Burt Lake; 7 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren and 9 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 10, at Noon at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing with the Rev. Paul J. Lindloff, officiating. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Lansing. The family will receive friends at the Chapel Tuesday 1 hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make contributions to the Hospice of Little Traverse Bay, One Hiland Drive, Petoskey, MI 49770 in memory of Ethel.
