Evelyn Mae O?Connor Beloved soul mate, mother, and grandmother, born on March 8, 1938 to Lawrence and Anna (Wolfe) Long in Twin Rocks, Pennsylvania raised from an early age by her mother and Paul Clark her step dad. She was a lifelong resident of the Lansing area and joined the angels on July 4, 2010 at the age of 72. Evelyn met the love of her life, Dennis O?Connor, who would be her hero for 55 years, at West Junior High School. They enjoyed camping all over Michigan and making friends wherever they traveled. She could always be seen decorating for the holidays, especially Christmas, laughing, smiling, dancing, enjoying sunsets over Lake Michigan, and rooting for the Tigers or MSU Spartans. She will always be remembered for her strength in the face of adversity, her beautiful blue eyes and love of family. Happy Independence Day dear Lady! Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents Lawrence Long, Anna Long-Clark, and Paul Clark; and her sister, Erma (Ken) Totten; sister-in-law, Dorothy Olsen; beloved dog, Teddy. She is survived by her husband, Dennis O?Connor; daughters, Karen (John) Diedrick, Paula Hall (Companion Ron), and Kolleen (Terry) O?Connor; sons, Dennis (Sandy) O?Connor, and Tim (Shelly) O?Connor; grandchildren, Landis (Anna), Kyle, Anna, Spencer, Ashley, Alexander, Eric, Alyssa, Brittney, Alana, and Jordan; sisters, Ellen (Eddie) Ohmer, and Audrey Hardin; sister-in-law, Mary Ann (Richard Skidmore) Westhoff; brother-in-law, Jimmy (Lee) O?Connor; cousin, Sally Lewis; pets, Sammi, Matt, and Maggie; and many loving friends and family. Visitation is Wednesday, July 7 from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. with a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 8, at St. Casimir Catholic Church, 815 Sparrow Ave, Lansing with Fr. Bill Lugger presiding. Viewing will be from 1 to 2 P.M. Thursday at church.
