

Francisco Llinas passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 30, 2022 at the age of 91. Francisco was born in Havana, Cuba on May 2, 1930. He married the love of his life Mirtha and together they raised two children. In 1968, Francisco and his family arrived in the United States and settled in Lansing. He worked at the General Motors Fisher Body plant for over 26 years. He was very proud of his employment with General Motors and would tell anyone he met about his work experience at the plant. He was a founding member of the Cuban American Association of Lansing. He was a member of the UAW Local 602, and the Church of the Resurrection. Francisco enjoyed cooking wonderful traditional Cuban meals during family gatherings. He had a great sense of humor. He relished in sharing delightful vignettes from his life in Cuba. Most of all, Francisco loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Francisco was preceded in death by his parents, Jose M. Llinas and Blanca Carvajal; his beloved wife Mirtha; two brothers, Dr. Jose Llinas (Maria), and Juan Llinas (Raquel). Surviving is his brother, Tomas Llinas (Donna); his children, Francisco J. (Patricia), Blanca (Reniero); grandchildren, Elena (Miguel), Carlos (Jennifer), Raquel (Erick), Rebecca (Jake), and Tessa. Great grandchildren, Enzo, Saelor, Miguel, Desmond, Evie, Bennett and Elijah. He will also be remembered by many extended family members and dear friends.
Visitation for family members and friends will be held on Wednesday May 11th from 10am-11am, followed by an 11am memorial service at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home Tiffany Chapel, 3232 West Saginaw St. Lansing, 48917. A private family graveside burial service will take place immediately following the funeral home ceremony.
