Gary Paul Gogarn

Gary Paul Gogarn passed away on October 7, 2025, at the age of 84. Born in Flint, Michigan, Gary was a kind-hearted and hard-working individual who spent his life dedicated to his family and community.

Gary was an industrial electrician for many years with General Motors in Lansing, Michigan. He married the love of his life, Heidi Louis Kühn, and they shared over fifty years of marriage. Gary is survived by his two children, Bernd Gogarn, Linda (Johnson) Gogarn, and Stephanie Gogarn, along with his grandchildren, Jayd Gogarn, Joe Torres, Mandy Gogarn, and his sisters, Sally (Gogarn) Lankton and Kit (Gogarn) Marks. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Heidi, his parents, Robert Paul Gogarn, Jr. and Jean (Sanford) Gogarn, and his sister, Jill B (Gogarn) McCoy.

Gary will be remembered as a huge wrestling fan. Gary's passion for the sport began as a member of the Lansing Eastern High School wrestling team in the late 1950s. He went on to coach wrestling at Walter French Middle School, and Waverley and Everett High Schools. Gary dedicated countless hours to mentoring young wrestlers during freestyle sessions at Lansing Eastern's wrestling room. He will be remembered as one of Lansing’s finest wrestling icons.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2025, between the hours of 1:30 until 4:00 PM at the Lansing Leiderkranz Club, Inc., 5828 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing, Michigan 48911

A private interment will be held at Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly, Michigan
