Age 81, our loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather passed away February 7, 2014. Gerald was born on May 23, 1932 to Edwin Sr. and Beatrice (Tarr) Alford. He worked for Atlas Drop Forge for 35 years. He loved spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed working with wood, making bird feeders and other things. He also enjoyed all his flower beds around the house and backyard.

Surviving are his wife of 63 who he married on June 9, 1951, Lucile; daughters, Beverly Pitchford of Wacousta, and Bonnie (Newt) Rowe of Lansing; grandchildren, Jeremy Pitchford, Michelle (Steve) Mercer, Brandy Buskirk, and Kayla Pitchford; great-grandchildren, Craig Pitchford, Mason and Shelby Mercer, Lexie and Chloe Buskirk; one brother Kenneth Alford of Spring, Texas. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, son Robert; sister, Jean Boone; 2 brothers, Curt, and Edwin Jr.; son-in-law, Rex McLain.

Visitation is from 2-4, 6-8 P.M. Sunday with services 12:00 Noon Monday, February 10, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Interment Deepdale Memorial Park.
