

He was born in Zanesville, Ohio on Wednesday, June 30, 1937. His childhood in Zanesville, Ohio instilled a lifelong passion for the outdoors, horses, watching classic western movies, and listening to country music. He returned to Zanesville often and enjoyed his favorite attraction, the Lorena Sternwheeler riverboat. He worked as a truck driver and general laborer.
He is survived by his children, Faith Penner (Bill), Mark Goins, and Andrew Goins; his sister, Betty Norman; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha J. Goins; his parents, Jesse Floyd and Retha Goins; his siblings, Emmet, Frances, Jesse “Jake,” Donald, Wesley, Denver, Floyd, Jr. “Junior,” Charles, Arcelia, Nancy, and Catherine.
The family wants to thank all those who helped by visiting him, offering prayer, support, and love for him throughout a difficult journey.
Gerald is in care of Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home. There are no visitation or funeral services scheduled. His final resting place will be Delta Cemetery in Lansing, Michigan.
