Age 88, passed peacefully from complications of Leukemia on July 18, 2013, to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born Dec 6, 1924 in Lansing, MI, to the late James and Lucille Griffiths. Glenn was the beloved husband of Diane Griffiths, whom he married in 1996. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife of 51 years, Jean, and his brother, James. Glenn served in the US Army in WWII as a Tank Commander. Later, he was the owner of Stablers Mens Wear for 45 years, and most recently spent 17 years as a Salesman for Kositchek’s of Lansing. Glenn was an active member of Grace United Methodist Church of Lansing, and sang in the choir for many years. Glenn was a member of Colonial Village Kiwanis Club for 25 years, and a past president. He served on the executive board of both Boy Scouts of America and Girl Scouts of America. He was a volunteer for McRee House.
Glenn is survived by his wife Diane; son Jeffrey of Laingsburg, MI; daughter Judi Young, of Howell, MI; 3 step-children, 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild.
A funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 23 at Grace United Methodist, 1900 Boston Blvd, Lansing with the graveside service following at Deepdale Cemetery. The family will receive friends Monday at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, Lansing from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. and one hour prior to the service at the church.
