Heather was deeply inspired by her family’s legacy in the legal profession. Following in their footsteps, Heather became a sixth-generation lawyer, dedicating her career to criminal defense, estate planning, and contract drafting. She graduated from James Madison College at Michigan State University in 1992 with a major in justice, morality, and constitutional democracy. Heather later earned her law degree from Cooley Law School, where she developed a lasting admiration for "The Federalist Papers."
Heather loved to read and valued knowledge above all. She found joy in collecting quirky t-shirts, solving logic puzzles, and playing board games. Teaching brought her the same exhilaration as practicing law in the courtroom. Her favorite quote came from a beloved film: “Do. Or do not. There is no try.” – Yoda.
Heather was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Timothy.
At the request of the family, there will be no services at this time. Donations may be made in Heather’s memory to the Cooley Law School Merit Scholarship Fund or the Ogemaw County Humane Society.
