Jim graduated from Fraser High School. After graduation, Jim proudly served his country in the United States Air Force. While stationed at Grand Forks Air Force Base in North Dakota, he met the love of his life, Charlene. The two were married on August 26, 1972, and celebrated 53 wonderful years together.
Jim was a dedicated husband, father, and friend. He owned and operated Mid-Michigan Industrial Supply for 20 years, where his honesty and hard work left a lasting impression on customers and colleagues alike.
A man of deep faith, Jim was an active member of Immanuel Lutheran Church in Grand Ledge. He gave generously of his time, volunteering with RSVP and lending a hand wherever it was needed. He loved tending to his yard and garden, taking pride in keeping things neat and beautiful. Those who knew Jim will remember his selflessness, he was always ready to help anyone, no matter the task.
Jim is survived by his loving wife, Charlene Seifert; son Jeffery Seifert; daughter Kristin Seifert; sister Bonnie (Delmar) Wieschowski; his special dog friend Howie Gareth; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Louise Seifert, and his special dog friend Pre.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the Lansing Township First Responders for their efforts and compassion in attempting to save Jim’s life.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 1, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, 517 S. Clinton St., Grand Ledge, MI 48837. A memorial service will follow at 11:00 a.m., with a luncheon to follow on site.
