

Janet Kay Molzan, age 83, of Lansing, Michigan, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 27, 2025, in her hometown of Lansing. Born on May 22, 1942, also in Lansing, Janet spent her entire life rooted in the community she loved.
Janet was the beloved wife of Emil Molzan for 65 years—a remarkable partnership built on love and devotion. Together they raised a close-knit family that brought her immense pride and joy. She was the cherished mother of Pamela (William) Heighland, Jeff (Janice) Molzan, Karen (Jeff) Jajko, and Dale (Lucinda) Molzan. Her legacy continues through her 12 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren.
Professionally, Janet and Emil were owners of EJs Alignment & Brakes as well as her dedicating many years to Sparrow Hospital in Lansing, where she served as a laundry department supervisor before retiring. Her work ethic and commitment left a lasting impression on those who worked alongside her.
Outside of work and family life, Janet found joy in simple pleasures and meaningful connections. She especially enjoyed camping trips with her family—times filled with laughter and togetherness. She had a fondness for gambling and could often be found knitting or bowling in her leisure time. Janet along with Emil were involved with the Moose Lodge in DeWitt, where they formed lasting friendships and contributed to community events.
Janet was a caring sister to Jerry (Judy) Parish, Gary Parish, and Frankie (Patricia) Parish. She was preceded in death by five of her brothers and three sisters but remained deeply connected to her extended family throughout her life. Her many nieces, nephews, and relatives held a special place in her heart.
The visitation for Janet will be held on Tuesday, September 2, 2025, from 3 PM until 7 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home - Tiffany Chapel, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing.
The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, at 1 PM at the funeral home. The family will receive visitors beginning at 12 PM until the service.
Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, 4444 W. Grand River Ave., Lansing.
Janet’s warmth, strength, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered by all who knew her. May her memory bring comfort to those whose lives she touched.
