

Jeffrey Van Steel, 66, of South St. Paul, Minnesota, previously of Lansing, Michigan, passed away on June 27, 2024 at United Hospital in Minnesota. He was born on May 9, 1958 in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Emil and Shirley (Smolinski) Van Steel. Jeff earned an Associate’s degree and worked as a shipping & receiving manager. He also volunteered at his local food pantry. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Church and was an officer of the Knights of Columbus. Jeff was a faithful Catholic believer, loved the Lord, and read his Bible faithfully.
Predeceased by parents, Shirley (Smolinski) VanSteel and Emil VanSteel; brother, Gregory VanSteel and sister, Valerie VanSteel. Survived by brothers, Eric VanSteel (wife, Lauren) and Kurt VanSteel (wife, Teri), and sister Janine (VanSteel) Weldon (husband, Rex).
Jeff enjoyed traveling and visited many countries. He was an avid board game player and also enjoyed collecting board games as well as miniature planes, tanks, and soldiers. He also enjoyed collecting shot glasses, thimbles, ball caps, albums and CDs.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, July 18, 2024, 1:30 pm, Immaculate Heart of Mary, 3815 S. Cedar Street, Lansing, MI
with visitation one hour prior. Interment to follow service at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery, Lansing, MI.
