Jerry Rountree

He was born in Detroit, Michigan, on February 18, 1946, to Thelma I. and James C. Rountree. He was married to Cynthia Ann on July 17, 1970, at South Lansing Christian Church.

Jerry proudly served in the United States Navy and later pursued education at Lansing Community College. He worked for General Motors Service Parts Operation and was an active member of South Lansing Christian Church. A faithful Christian, Jerry enjoyed puzzles, computer games, participating in elections, and bowling. He was known for his outgoing, selfless, caring, and charismatic personality.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Cynthia Ann Rountree; children, Carey (Bill) and Mark (Selena); grandchildren, Nicholas (Faith), Chelsea (Eric), Michael (Ashlyn), and Dominic; and sister, Carol. He is preceded in death by his brother, Terry, and his parents.

A visitation for Jerry will be held on Thursday, April 11, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes Lansing Chapel, 900 E Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. A funeral service will be held on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 10:30 AM, with a half-hour prior visitation from 10:00 AM to 10:30 AM, at South Lansing Christian Church, 6300 N Aurelius Rd., Lansing, MI 48911. Following the service, the family will have a private graveside service at Jerry's final resting place in Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens.

Honored to serve as pallbearers are Mark Rountree, Dominic Rountree, Bill Ommen, Nicholas Linsemier, Michael Linsemier, and Eric Sheldon.
