Jim was born in Frankfurt, Germany to James A. Gregus and Sharon K. Gregus. He married his loving wife, Susan M. Gregus, on August 28, 1993. Together, they built a life filled with love, laughter, and cherished memories.
A proud American patriot, Jim served his country with honor as a medic in the United States Army. He received his Associates Degree and went on to be a Maintenance Supervisor which brought him in between two residences. Lansing, MI was work but Frankenmuth, MI was home, and he made lasting friendships in both cities along the way.
Jim had many passions, including playing guitar, gaming with friends, and spending quality time with his family. He was known for his goofy sense of humor, his warm personality, and his ability to make those around him smile. He was a loving husband, a proud father, and a true friend to all.
Jim is survived by his wife, Susan M. Gregus; his children, Charli (Nick) Jobko and Tyler Gregus; brother, Jeffery (Nancy) Gregus; several cousins; nephews; and many dear friends.
As Jim loved summer, a celebration of life will be held summer 2025, dates to be determined. Memorial contributions in Jim’s honor may be made to the National Coalition of Homeless Veterans, an organization that was close to Jim’s heart.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Hayden and nurse, Jodie, from McLaren Greater Lansing’s Critical Care Team for their exceptional care.
