

On January 10th, at the age of 92, John was reunited with the love of his life, Betty. He was a loving and devoted father with an awesome sense of humor. John served in the US Navy during WWII. Afterwards, worked and retired from Fisher Body with 31 years of service. He also, enjoyed farming with his John Deere Tractors. John was a member of the Model A Club and enjoyed taking his 1929 Model A car to various car shows. He will be greatly missed by his loving family. John was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Betty Jane; children, Randy Brooks, Sandra O’Connell, John Brooks; grandson, Trevor Lee; brothers, Donald Brooks, Harold Brooks, Duane Brooks; sister Dorothy Borton. Surviving to cherish his memory are his daughters, Sharon Wild, Deborah Brooks; son, Bryan (Norma) Brooks; 13 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and several extended family. A funeral service will be held at Noon on Wednesday, January 13th at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and also from 2:00–4:00p.m. and 6:00-8:00p.m. on Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Funeral Home. Interment will be at Dewitt Cemetery.
