Age 87, our beloved husband, dad, and grandpa passed away on March 27, 2017. Born April 21, 1929 in Flint, MI where Jack attended Flint Central High School.
He had been living at Holt Senior Care Center since Oct. 13, 2015. He served in the Korean War in the U.S. Army; He was a member of St. Mary Cathedral. Jack owned and operated Darrah Shoes in Battle Creek for many years, and later was a traveling representative for Brown Shoe Co.
Surviving are his loving wife of 61 years, Ann Lenore (Torgerson) Darrah who he married on Oct. 15, 1955; 3 children, Kris (Mike) Redford, Mark Darrah, and John Darrah (Rusty Hubbart); 3 grandsons, Dan, Brad, and Kent Redford; sister, Marie (Joel) Sanger, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Jack was preceded in death by his parents George R. and Pauline (Kent) Darrah; brother, George R. Darrah; sisters Mary Margaret Darrah, Yvonne Newnan, and Geraldine Manyak.
Visitation is from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. Thursday, March 30, in the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing. Funeral Liturgy is 10:00 A.M. Friday, March 31, 2017 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour, Lansing with Msgr. Bernard Reilly presiding. Visitation is from 9-10 A.M. Friday at church. Interment Evergreen Cemetery.
