The 'Person Clan' would visit my family during the summer and my sister and I were always so excited when they arrived. Uncle John was so sweet and kind and funny. There will always be a place in my heart for the man who called me 'Pegatha'.

Dear Chris and Person Family,
I attended church with Chris and John. My favorite memory of John is when the confirmation kids interviewed John and Chris about the secrets to a long and loving marriage. John said "well early on in our marriage we made a pact that who ever decided to leave had to take the kids with them". The confirmation kids roared with laughter. Chris said "he is kinda cute". John and Chris's grandson was in the confirmation class and said "you go Grandma". Great memories.

Know your up North family feels your grief and sorrow. John was a very special man and we too loved him. His faith and devotion to God, family and friends was a true gift. We will miss him greatly, too but know his real reward his now his.

Heart felt condolences to the friends and family of Uncle John Person. He may be gone from our sight, but never from our heart..... I will forever remember "Put Ups Hands" as he was taking his morning shower, and the inside information on the location of brook trout and blueberries, as every once in a while, Aunt Teen may have been a little hush-hush. I will miss talking Michigan football with him, and his sharp sighted humor, that was as clever and agile as a gazelle.

My first meeting with John was through his Assessment Administration classes he taught at LCC, and I believe it was in the fall of 1972. John's passion for the field and drive to have professionally trained staff throughout the state served as a role model and inspriation for me. He will be missed.

John was my across the street neighbor while I grew up. I always remember standing at the mailbox talking about how our day was. He always asked about school and my activities. One of my greatest treasures was when John brought over a series of comic strips talking about someone who was in the flag corp. I know for three years he watched me practice with my flag in the front yard and always nodded in aproval to my practice. Miss your smiling face already.

I was deeply saddened to hear of John's passing. I've known John for 35 years, and first met him when he was an evening instructor in assessment administration at Lansing Community College. Later, we served together for over a decade on an LCC advisory committee. I always admired John's keen knowledge and quick wit. After he retired, I saw him periodically at the grocery store, and he always took time for a few minutes of conversation. John certainly enriched my life. My thoughts and prayers are with his family this week.

Dearest Marge and the entire Person extended family, great loss over time will be replaced by great memories and the legacies that great people leave behind. Even the "Buckeyes" weep today for your loss.

Chris and Margie - I am so sorry to learn of John's passing. I know it has been a difficult road for the entire family. John is finally at peace and out of pain. I remember how kind John was before his illness. He offered to snow blow my driveway and would take a long snow rake and pull the snow down off of my roof. Your family is in my thoughts and prayers.

I remember when I was four and my cousin Matt was born. We were all over at Grandma and Grandpa's house and everyone was fawning over Matt, but I was sulking because I was little and used to being the only one. I was sitting on the far side of the room by myself. Grandpa saw me and came over and sat by me to talk because he didn't want me to feel alone or left out. Grandpa was always that way. We love you, Grandpa. We already miss you.
