So sorry for such a great loss.   I have many memories of John and Lenny together at MSU.   Lenny loved to call him "Dad" and John would tell Lenny that he didn't need a son as crazy as him.  Quite sure that they are having a good laugh in heaven...

John was such a sweet person. We have fond memories of our encounters up at the cottage. When  Jerry brought home his first Rainbow Trout...we had NO idea how to clean it.  John happened to be out walking Bandett and saw us on the porch & stopped to check out The Catch of the Day. He taught Jerry how to clean & filet it. That was our introduction to our new neighbor Up North!
John will be missed. Our thoughts are with The Zink Family.

Uncle John will be remembered in our  hearts as a man of few words,  quite ways and always smiling.    He'll be missed by us all.  I'm sure Uncle John and Fritz are playing cards.

 To the  Zink family sorry for your loss and our loss too . John was my boss for many years at the ground dept.  John stands for what the grounds dept  is  now. making the campus of 
 M S U  better.i can never thank him enough for  the helping me though the years and still do. my  watch still go's off at noon tell us it's time go back to work.         ps.   god bless you John Zink

So sorry to hear Uncle John passed on. I'll bet he and his sisters and parents are all catching up and happy to be together again. My thoughts and prayers are with all his kids, grandkids, great-grandkids, etc.

We are sorry to hear of John's passing.  I remember him as a happy man who always had a smile on his face.  He will be missed by those who loved him.

John  (or "JZ" as he was called at the Grounds Dept.) was my supervisor when I was a part-time student employee in the 70's and then later when I became a full-time  "regular" employee. I'm now retired from a 30 year career in labor relations where I was fortunate to have had a lot of great mentors. John, though,  was my first real mentor and  played an important part in my young work life by teaching me about responsibility, having pride in your work, and working  as a team member. The lessons he taught me not only served me well at the time, but later in my career  I often found myself passing on what I learned from him to the supervisors and managers  that I gave advice and counsel to.

God bless John and the entire Zink family.

A few yrs ago around Christmas time, I could not think of what to get him, the man that wanted nothing more than to spend time with his family. So, I wrote him a letter. From across the room I watched him read it. His eyes filled with tears, he walked over to me and whispered that it was the best gift he could have ever gotten. That was the first time I had ever seen him cry. We made an agreement that day, that would be the last gift I would ever give him. I love him and so proud to be a part of a family that he made.

You are so loved, Grandpa. Thank you for everything you taught me, and all of the wonderful memories! Most of all thank you for being an amazing dad to my dad, he is passing down everything he learned to us. Your legacy of kindness and happiness will live on forever. Rest In Peace.
