I worked with Jon at MDOT for about 5 years when he joined MDOT, and he was a smiling happy person that brightened every occassion.  After I moved from Planning to Design, I was still glad to see him on 3rd floor or in the building.

My condolences to you, his wife and family.  I am sorry that my retirement travels caused me not to be in Lansing this weekend.

I heard of Jon's passing from a friend's facebook page. I did not know Jon, nor do I know you - his family, but I offer you my sincere condolences on his loss. I love this photo you have posted of Jon. His zest for life and living shows through in the photo and on his face. May you rest in peace knowing Jon carries your love with him each and every day.

Dear Kathy and family, we want you to know that we are there with you in spirit at this time of great loss. We enjoyed the gallery of pictures here. Of course we remember Jon playing his guitar in our church in Mariscal so many years ago. My favorite memory of him in Guatemala is when he told my friend Norma that she "played" so "saxy"...her saxaphone. His wittyness  will be missed. Love and prayers for God's comfort.

I am so saddened with you at losing Jon. It was a joy to grow up with him in Guatemala and a privilege to retain his friendship in the years after we came to the U.S. I cannot imagine a better friend. Jon not only had a ready smile and an infectious laugh that was eager to burst out, he was generous-hearted, deeply sensitive, and always had a warm embrace for those he loved. Jon will be sorely missed, but I look forward to laughing with him again - in the presence of the Lord he loved and served.
I am sorry that I cannot come to be there as you honor the memory and celebrate the life of this beautiful man, but my heart and prayers are with you.

I knew Jon as a casual acquaintance at MDOT.  He always had a smile and a cheerful hello for me whenever I saw him.  We periodically would talk a little fishing and about our families and it was always a nice exchange.  He was a great guy and he will be missed. It is with great sorrow that we received the news of Jon’s passing.  As a fellow small group leader for Impact, I got to know Jon and witness his kind and gentle nature through his interactions with our middle school kids, especially his youngest daughter.  Though we’ve only known your family a few years, we became attached to the loving, caring, and vivacious Galbreath family.  We remember fondly the “Journey” down the Tahquamenon River last August and the fun we had that day.  May all the sweet memories of yesterday sustain you through this difficult time.  We pray that you find comfort, hope, and strength through your faith as you deal with the loss of one so loved.

We are so very shocked and saddened to learn of your tragic loss of your precious son, husband, father and brother. A loss of a treasure unspeakable and profound. I recall reading about the suffering of living with disabilities unseen by others in comparison to visible disabilites and I am so very sorry to now comprehend the depth of the burden of Jon's illness which was so invisible to us all. Please forgive us for our lack of understanding as a whole culture! May his passing help us all to have greater love of our neighbor. May the love of Christ sustain you in this time.

Through the years you become friends with so many people. Some friends are only acquaintances and some grow to become very close. During high school and college I became very close with a great friend. He made me a better person by showing me how to appreciate everyone around me and to surround myself with quality friends.

We were roommates in college and teammates on the collegiate and international soccer field together. His athletic drive inspired everyone to perform above their potential. I was present when he married his beautiful wife on Valentine’s Day and when he gave his wonderful daughter away at her wedding. Jon Galbreath was a positive influence in my life. He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Jon's death.  I didn't know you long (I started working as secretary of DMC in 1993), but I have fond memories of you both. Praying for all of you.

Uncle Jon was an amazing person!  His kindness, laughter, caring words and free-spirit was so contagious.  I will never forget going to Guatemala with him, my dad and grandma many years ago.  He loved that country and those precious people.  I remember how much he loved Aunt Kathy and his adorable family.   When my dad passed away, he was right there with one of his huge hugs and tears in his eyes.  I can't believe he's gone home at such a young age.  I'm thankful that we will all see him again at the resurrection.  But, our hearts are broken for those left behind.

Kathy and family,

Jon was a great guy, we shared many wonderful conversations of you and the girls over the 17 years that I knew him.  He was so proud of you all and really loved you to the depth of his heart.  We shared a great conversation last week... yet I never got to say goodbye.  He was a good man, with a good heart, centered on those he loved.  Our talks of you, his girls and his parents were always wonderful.  He let the light of the Lord shine in his life and I will always see him that way.

More than 22 years ago Jon interviewed for a job at MDOT and I was one of the persons that knew from the very start that he was someone special.  He came to the department with a warm, energetic manner and was always willing to look towards the future.  Over those 22 years we have worked side by side and I will truly miss his warmth, smile, and positive attitude.  His love was for his wife, girls, and family and he was no stranger to expressing it. Jon always seemed so content and so proud of his family.  I have worked with Jon for years and always enjoyed his "goofiness" and smile.  I did his birthday for the birthday club at work and he always wanted homemade waffles.  I will think of him whenever I am making waffles.  God bless.

I am deeply saddened by Jon's passing.  He was always very nice to me. The world has truly lost a very nice man.  My prayers are with you Jon and your family.

I was very sadden to hear of Jon's death.  He often shared rides to work with my sister Delia and that's how I really got to know him.  He was a Christian man who loved his family and often spoke of them.  His daughter was in in my niece's Quinceanera (Brianna Rodriguez). 
I can only say that he truly touched all who came in contact with him with his gentle nature and sense of humor.  But I would like to think that he is now with his Lord, happy and peaceful, just looking over his family and guiding their steps to heaven.

Jon was always so shy in front of me.  I wish I would have engaged more conversation with him.  One conversation he never tired of sharing was his love for his family; especially his kids.  I could always overhear his talking to someone about one of his kids latest antics.  I truly wish I was there to offer my condolences face to face, but sadly, I am in Colordo.  Jon's bright face and cheerful attitude will be greatly missed.

Dear Kathy and your dear family, We just received news of Jon's passing yesterday.  Our hearts goes out to you and we wanted you to know we are praying for you this week.  I, Jim, have so many fond memories of being with Jon at many hunting retreats and some bow hunting together out at Camp Lakeview.  He enjoyed being in the outdoors so much.
