

of Lansing, MichiganPassed away Tuesday, November 04, 2008 at the age of 83. Joe was born June 21, 1925 in Lansing and was the son of Frank and Elizabeth (Kovacs) Kish. Joe retired in 1984 as a plumber with the Lansing School District after 30 years of service. He is a WWII veteran of the U.S. Navy and served on the USS Garrard. Joe is a Life Member and Past Commander of the Morley S. Oates V.F.W. Post 701. He is a past member of St. Therese of Lisieux Parish, a member of St. Gerard Parish and a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles #1039, Lansing. Joe loved fishing, hunting and gardening. His wife, Deloris Kish; 11 brothers and sisters precede him in death. Surviving are his 3 children, Larry Kish, Linda Buckingham (fiance? Jack Mastilock), and Denise (Michael) Thelen; daughter-in-law, Lucy Kish; grandchildren, Laura Buckingham, Kyle Kish, Matthew, Philip, Jennifer, Elizabeth, Rebecca Thelen; sisters, Betty Glasovatz of Michigan and Katherine Fossum of Florida. Visitation is 2-4,6-8PM Wednesday, November 5, 2008 with a 7PM Rosary at Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 West Saginaw, Lansing, MI 48917. The Funeral Liturgy is 11:00AM Thursday, November 6, 2008 at St. Gerard Catholic Church, 4437 W. Willow Hwy, Lansing, MI 48917 with Father John P. Klein, presiding. The Rite of Committal is Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens with Military Honors by Morley S. Oates V.F.W. Post 701. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Morley S. Oates V.F.W. Post 701, 123 N. Rosemary Avenue, Lansing, MI 48917 or Eaton Community Hospice, 2675 S. Cochran Street, Charlotte, MI 48813 in memory of Joe.
