Judy Lynn (Schutz) House, 52, of Bath, MI, passed away on April 23, 2025. She was a cherished individual known for her kind, loving, artistic, and humorous personality. Born in Lansing, Michigan on December 11, 1972, to John and Joanne Schutz. Judy lived a life filled with tremendous passion and service towards others, especially children.
Judy was a dedicated educator for 28 years, most recently in Bath Community Schools, after having served 25 years teaching special education in the Lansing School District.
Judy was known for her patience and her ability to meet any child where they were and push them to success by creating a positive classroom environment and fostering a love of learning. She touched so many lives and inspired those around her to provide this special population with the tools they needed to thrive. She advocated tirelessly for her students' educational, emotional, and physical needs. Judy mentored countless students and colleagues, leaving a lasting positive impact.
Judy’s legacy will live on through the many lives she touched. Remember her fondly as a teacher, mentor, and friend with one of the kindest souls, biggest hearts, and an endless supporter of her family and friends.
Judy had a strong, competitive nature that served her well in her many years of post high school softball leagues. She made many close, life-long friends and most importantly, met her husband through these leagues.
Judy enjoyed gardening, baking, and crafting but her favorite pastime was supporting her son Justin in any of his activities or her many nieces and nephews who looked to Aunt Judy as a “bonus Mom.” She could often be found doing her nieces’ hair and makeup for school dances and social events, as well as manicures and pedicures complete with nail art that was as impressive as any professional.
Judy is survived by her husband of almost 20 years, Scott House of Bath; son Justin House of Bath; Her Mother, Joanne Schutz of Dewitt, Her sisters: Jennifer (Scott) Ziesman of Dewitt Township and Julie (Marco) De Vries of Dewitt; she was the proud aunt of Jack, John, Emily, Grace, Katelyn, Alex, Allison, Autumn (Aaron), Sydney (Trevor), Seth (Hailey), Alexis, Eva, Asa, Abbie, and Jared; Judy is also survived by her in-laws Barbara and Harold House Jr. of Omaha, NE; Sister-in-Law, Cynthia (David) Penski of Holt; Brother-in-law, Daniel (Le Ann) House of Grand Ledge; many close friends especially Sherry Graham, and extended family.
