June Davis

Age 86, our loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother went home to her Lord, August 16, 2008. June was born April 28, 1922 in Radford, Virginia the daughter of Winfred Sr. & June Wimmer. She was a veteran of WWII, serving with the U.S. Navy WAVES as an aviation mechanic. June retired from Head Start after 20 years of service. She was an active member of the B.Z. Chapter of P.E.O., and a faithful member of the Plymouth Congregational Church. June was preceded in death by her husband Richard (Red) Davis in 1979; her parents; sisters, Alice Wimmer and Mable Nolan; and brother Winfred Wimmer Jr. Surviving are her three daughters June Elizabeth (Timothy) O'Hara, Virginia Lee Davis, Susan Kay Davis, son Robert W. Davis (Susan Albee); grandchildren Kathleen, Megan, Timothy O'Hara, Jeffrey R. (Kassandra) Davis; great-grandchildren Braedan O'Hara and Jackson Davis; and special niece, Lana (Randy) Wilson.

Services will be held at 10:00am, August 20, at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw, Lansing, with Pastor Joanne DeWolf officiating followed by an interment with military honors will be at Deepdale Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 4:00-7:00pm Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Greater Lansing Youth for Christ organization.
