Keith Emmett Shirey Sr.

Holt, MI

Born July 14, 1951 in Owosso, MI went to rest on September 2, 2011 at the age of 60. He retired in 2002 from General Motors after 31 years and served 8 years as a volunteer firefighter for Delhi Township. Keith was an avid golfer, Euchre player and enjoyed tinkering in “Pa’s” fix it shop. He loved watching things grow from his garden to his best friend Lacy Gurl.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Benner; father, Donald Shirey Sr; brother, Donald Shirey Jr.; sister, Sandra Rammel; and grandson, Brock Holden Shirey. Surviving are his wife of 23 years Cindy Shirey; children, Keith (Sarah) Shirey Jr., Chad (Shalane) Shirey, Brandi (Wally) Rogers, Brock Shirey, Matie (Randy) Dunn, Ben (Nicki) Shirey, Lisa Peixoto, Sarah (Thomas) White, Paulo Peixoto, Brittney Dowdy; brothers, Sid (Sally) Shirey, Chuck (Chris) Benner; sister, Shirely Shirey-Karn; step father, Rusty Benner; 23 grandchildren, the oldest grandson, Keith Emmett Shirey III is proudly serving in the U.S. Army; great grandson, Jordan Emmett Shirey. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 A.M. on Tuesday, September 6, 2011 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Home, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 4, 2011 from 2-4 and 6-8 P.M.
