01/17/1959 - 12/23/2019
Born in Lansing, MI as the eldest of five children to Don and Theresa Jarvis (née Martin).
She was Baptized Catholic and attended the Immaculate Heart of Mary school until she moved on to Gardner Junior High, and later graduated from Harry Hill High School in 1977. She got her first job at the age of 16 in 1975 at Burger King and after, the State of Michigan while she was still in school. It was then Kris began a lifelong passion of working very hard. In 1979 she began work at AIG and it was there she flourished and climbed the ranks right up until her retirement in 2017. She was proud of her work as well as the fact that AIG paid for her post-secondary education. After six short months of retirement, Kris went back to work part time because she just could not sit still for longer than six months, apparently.
Over the years, Kris made clear to everyone she knew just how completely devoted she was to her children, including Nicole’s long distance marching band and Josh’s travel hockey. As loudly as she would cheer for her kids, she was absolutely deafening whenever the University of Michigan or the Red Wings were playing. A rum & Coke Zero in one hand, a beer in the other, and an Olive Burger on her plate, Kris knew how to kick back. She adored entertaining and having friends and family over. She was the queen of fire pits and sand in her toes. Kris knew how to enjoy life and spent the bests parts of 60 years doing just that.
She was preceded in death by her youngest sister Angie (Wadeeya) Jarvis, as well as her father, Donald Jarvis. She is survived by her grandson, Noah Jonathan; children, Nicole (Brian) Anderson and Josh (Roslyn) Hayes-Brown; mother, Theresa Jarvis; sisters, Mary (Steve) Stier and Dawn Jarvis; brother, John Jarvis; nephews Nathaniel Jackson, Sam Qutub, Brandon Jarvis, and John Jarvis Jr; nieces, Natasha Jarvis, Sarah (Chris) Elchantaf, and Kayla (Brent) Tankersley, as well as great nieces and nephew, Ahyonna Walker, Alanah Ray, and Ryan Ford; and partner Michael T. Brown
