Lansing
Born July 22, 1915, in Allendale; died September 19, 2010, at the age of 95. Bud had been employed for over 20 years with Gatman Corporation, a manufacturer of fire trucks and mining equipment. For the last six years of his life he was cared for at the home of Phyllis Baes in Lake Odessa. Laurits was preceded in death by his wives, Genevieve, in 1996, and May Arlene, in 2009; and a son, Steve Hansen. Surviving are his sons, Jerry (Annette) Hansen, Donald Hansen, Jack (Lori) Hansen and Richard (Annetta) Hansen; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and sister, “Aunt Tina”. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 23, at 11 a.m. at the Gorsline-Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing. Interment will follow in East Lawn Memory Gardens, Okemos. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Those desiring may make contributions to Pines Healthcare Center, 707 Armstrong, Lansing, MI, 48911, in memory of Laurits Hansen.
