Si entered the Gates of Glory on February 4, 2015 to be with his Lord and Savior. He was born March 15, 1921 in Charlotte, MI to Lawrence Henry and Bertha (Young) Simon. Si honorably served in the US Marine Corps during WWII. He married his first wife, Marilyn (1954-1996). Si retired from GM after 44 years of service. He dedicated many years to building theatrical sets for Mount Hope Church. He also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Lillian (John) Bryant, Gerald (Dorothy) Howard, Mary Lou (Richard) Ridenour; and first wife, Marilyn.
Surviving are his wife, Frances Dunn Simon; sons, Mark Simon and Lance Simon; daughter Karen (Bill) Cuff; step-children, John (Chick) Dunn, Dana (Mel) Jackson and Lisa (Russ) Davis; grandchildren, Jacob (Latoyia) Simon and Kaitlin Lutz; many step-grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, February 12, 2015, at Mount Hope Church Garden Chapel, 202 S. Creyts Road, Lansing, MI. Interment will be in Fort Custer National Cemetery, Augusta, MI.
The family will receive friends Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI.
