Lillian Malone

Lansing, Michigan

Age 87, passed away February 28, 2014; born September 2, 1926. Lillian was a loving mother, grandmother and friend. She was born and lived in Lansing where she had a devoted career in the local floral industry for over 50 years. She began her passion for working with flowers at Van Peenen’s Floral and would later spend most of her career in Smith Floral Company working as a floral designer, store manager and mentor to many young floral designers. After retirement, she continued to work with flowers part time at Hyacinth House. Preceded in death by her husband, Mike A. Malone; son, Michael L. Malone; parents, John and Elizabeth Bowling; and brother, John Bowling. Surviving are her daughter, Michelle Malone; son-in-law, Fred Wesolowski; grandson, Collin Wesolowski; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 4, 10:00 AM at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Avenue, Lansing, MI 48912 with Rev. Wes Emerson officiating. The family will receive friends Monday, March 3, 2:00-4:00 PM and 6:00-8:00 PM.
