Lorene R. Arntz "Lucky"

Charlotte, Michigan-Formerly of Laingsburg, MI

Lorene passed away peacefully, with her daughter by her side on Sunday, August 16th at Eaton Community Palliative Care in Charlotte, Michigan. She was born on September 20, 1925 to Alvin and Annabelle Moore in Chillicothe, Missouri. She married John Arntz in October, 1945 and he preceded her in death in 1987. Together, they had many adventures-traveling, snowmobiling, Pow-Wows and fishing. She was the loving mother of John A. Arntz, who also preceded her in death in 2002 and Anna Arntz of Charlotte. In addition to her daughter, Lorene also leaves behind three grandchildren: John S. Arntz of Florida, Laura (Matthew) Bell of Illinois and Jordan Morey of Charlotte; one great grandchild, Karson Morey of Charlotte; Karson’s mother, Katrinna Austin, special friend and caregiver; three sisters, V. Madeline Dolton of Lansing, Ferris Rust of Oregon and Carrie Hale of East Lansing. She lost her brother, Owen C. Moore in an auto accident shortly after he returned from WWII. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Lorene’s zest for life was unmistakable. She loved her family deeply and was a devoted wife, mom, grandmother and friend. Lorene never met a stranger. She wasn’t shy by any stretch and always spoke her mind. She enjoyed dancing, playing bingo, camping, gardening and hosting huge family dinners. She began running 5K races following her retirement from GM in 1987. After 30 years of service. Lorene loved running and earned many 1st Place medals and trophies over the years. Lorene lived a long, rich life and will be terribly missed by every soul she touched. A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2015 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI 48912. The family will receive friends from 5-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at the funeral home. For those desiring, contributions may be made to Eaton Community Palliative Care, 2675 S.
