M. Therese Thelen

Lansing

Died June 27, 2017 at the age of 84. She was born September 17, 1932 in Fowler, Michigan the daughter of Peter J. and Leonora E. (Schmitt) Klein. She graduated from Fowler High School and then moved to Lansing where she spent the remainder of her life. She married Elmer Thelen on October 11, 1958 and he preceded her in death in 2003. She was a member of St. Gerard Church.

Therese is survived by her children, Joseph (Sandy) of Ionia, Mark (Julie) of Rockford, Kathryn (Keith) Phillips of Lansing and Julie (Steve) Pohl of Portland. Grandchildren, Jessica (Brad), Matthew, Melissa (Troy), Jenna (Nathan), Rachel (Edward), Nicole (Kevin), Kelly, Tony (Megan), Andy (Alexis), Jacob, and Amanda; great-grandchildren, Carter, Grant, Kaelyn, Thomas, Peyton, and Weston. Sister, Monica Pung; sisters-in-law, Doris Klein, Margaret Klein, and Carolyn Klein. Therese was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and siblings, Annabel Schafer, Betty Schafer, John, Paul, Peter, Charles, Lawrence, and Phillip Klein.

Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:30 AM Saturday, July 1, 2017 at St. Gerard Church, 4437 W. Willow, Lansing with Father John P. Klein officiating. Rite of Committal will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, June 30, from 5:00 to 8:00 PM with Rosary service at 7:00 PM at Tiffany Funeral Home, Lansing and from 9:30 -10:30 AM Saturday at church.
