Margaret Eileen English

East Lansing, MI

Passed away February 25, 2012. Eileen English, youngest child of R. Edgar and Goldie Johnson, was born in Sparrow Hospital (the first hospital birth in her family), August 24, 1916. She was a graduate of Lansing’s Eastern High School. She and Norman English married on January 17, 1937. Together, they ran a music studio in Lansing for nearly forty years, garnering many lasting friendships in that time. At Norman’s death in 1993, they had been married for more than 56 years. She was also predeceased by her brother Harold Johnson, and her sisters, Marie Kurtz and Edna Rice. Eileen is survived by her son, Ronald English and his wife, Demetrye, and daughter, Julie English Early and former daughter-in-law, Krista English. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Megan, Thaddeus, Derek and Rian; great grandchildren, Christopher (son of Megan and Duane Alter), Chloe and Penelope (daughters of Thaddeus and Joy English) and Alyssa and Sophia (daughters of Derek and Elizabeth English). Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, March 3, 2012 at Gorsline Runciman Funeral Homes, 900 E. Michigan Ave., Lansing, MI. The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home.
