Margaret ?Maggie? Farhat passed away Tuesday, January 17th, at the Hospice of Lansing Stoneleigh Residence. Maggie was born August 23, 1924, to the late Salwan and Jamely Farhat in Detroit, MI. She was united in marriage to Amal Farhat on August 20, 1944 and moved to Lansing. They were married for 51 years before Amal preceded her in death on March 5, 1995. Over the years, Maggie worked for Reo Motors and GM, and was a member of St. Mary Cathedral Women?s Auxiliary. She enjoyed bowling, bingo, and watching sports ? her favorite team was Notre Dame, but most of all, she will be remembered for her fabulous Lebanese cooking. She was also a wonderful dancer, entertaining everyone at weddings and ethnic gatherings. Maggie was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her two sons, Ronald (Patricia), and Jim (Cheryl) Farhat; and one daughter, Renee Farhat. She is also survived by 5 grandchildren, Chris (Cherrie) Farhat, Ronald (Tera) Farhat, Michael (Kellie) Farhat, Jeffrey Farhat, and Patrick Loepp; great-grandchildren, Lexie and Christopher; step great-grandchildren, Carter, Paige and Ryan; and sisters, Rose Farhat, Lourece Farhat, Madeline Clement, and Martha Kuri. Maggie was preceded in death by her parents; husband; brother, Darwish Farhat; and sisters, Hazel Krome and Sadie Koslowski. Funeral Services are 10:00 AM Friday, January 20, 2012 at St. Mary Cathedral, 219 Seymour, Lansing. Gathering of family and friends will be Thursday 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM with a 7:00 PM Vigil service at the Tiffany Funeral Home, 3232 W. Saginaw Street, Lansing, and 9-10 AM Friday at church. Private interment will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Hospice of Lansing in Maggie?s name. The family would like to thank all of the nurses and staff at the Hospice of Lansing Stoneleigh Residence for all their loving care and support. In addition, they would like to thank all of the staff and friends at The Marquette Senior Living Apartments and Evergreen Services for the support, care and friendship that they provided to Maggie.
