We were sorry to hear of Marian's passing on Thanksgiving day 2015. She was such a wonderful neighbor since 1962 and our whole family will miss her and her house being decorated for the different holidays. Our mom passed away a few days after Marian and she would have missed her very much also, as they were good friends as well as neighbors. My sisters and I grew up with her children and had a wonderful time with each of them. I know they will miss her very much. Take care and our thoughts and prayers are with each of you. We were saddened to hear of our beloved aunt's passing on Thanksgiving day. She was always such a joy to the five of us kids in our family who called her aunt. She was so hospitable, so joyful, so happy always to see us, and had that twinkle in her eyes that lit up when she was talking to you. She loved her Lord, was a woman of prayer, which was the foundation of her joy in spite of any trial she was having. I always wanted to be like her when I was growing up,and through our mutual faith, I hope I am becoming what I saw in her. She was always happy to come to our family reunions and grace us with her presence, and we were overjoyed to have her. Even though she will be missed, heaven is where her goal was, and though she got there a little sooner than we wanted her to be, we know she is blessed beyond measure now, and we will see her again. Jacqueline, Kim, Scott and Linda and Stan, she loved you with that wonderful mother,s love and even in heaven she is longing to see you again there where you can join her. May Jesus whom she adored bless you and answer all the prayers she prayed for you. We of our family all love you. Contact us if there is anything we can do for you.

We are saddened to hear of Marian's passing. We have enjoyed many conversations with her as we would walk by her house in the Edgemont neighborhood. She has been watching my boys grow up the last 11 years, and she always had such nice things to say. On some occasions we would sit with her in the summer on her patio and talk about anything and everything. Such a beautiful woman who will be missed. Prayers to her family. I will never forget all the fun talks we had, and how you had the ability to make everyone that crossed your path feel loved. Marian was loved and respected by all who knew her. She loved the role of motherhood Marian had a loving soul and a big heart, Love you Lydia

Marian was always a wonderful and encouraging soul who would greet me with open arms when I used to go to to WLCC with her. Always a smile on her face whatever she was going through, and was always about encouraging other people! Giving of her heart and so unselfishly!! There is no doubt that she went to be with the Lord and Frank who loved her so. My prayers are with her whole family.

Teresa Broessel and Mike purchased the Enchanted Cottage for the family of Marian Irene Butterfield.

There is no way to adequately express our sorrow at the loss of Marian. She has been a wonderful neighbor and treasured lifelong friend. She set the standard for gentleness, grace, and hospitality. She was joyful and loving every time we were together. We will miss her deeply. Our love and prayers for the family. Doris Wray, the Wrays and the Drongowskis.

Sue (Gates) Howell & the entire Gates family purchased the Garden of Serenity Bouquet for the family of Marian Irene Butterfield.

Marian has now joined the souls of many other Edgemont Park "neighborhood moms." Memories of childhood days and well beyond are too numerous to mention. Yes, indeed, she did have the best Christmas decorations, as well as the best landscaping and flowers a green thumb could paint. Frank is welcoming her with open arms and a big hug. She will be missed by those of us who remain here on this earth, but we've got a treasure cove of memories for comfort. Condolences to Jackie, Kimberly, Linda and Scott, as well as her grandchildren.

Marian was a wonderful woman who taught me that grace is strength. She was always a bright light in the BWL billboard of employees. She always had a smile, a compliment, and a soft touch on my friendship with her. God bless and hold her close. My condolences to the family and friends of Marian, she will be truly missed.

I am so sorry to hear of Marian's passing. I worked at the Board of Water and Light in the Customer Service Department and adored Marian. She was a beautiful person; she was very patient and made everyone feel comfortable in uncomfortable situations. I am sure she will be missed by all who knew her. Love to Marian, Rebecca Cole
