Marilyn Ramey

Marilyn Joan (Henderson) Ramey passed away on December 12, 2015 at the age of 83. Born in Homer, Michigan on September 3, 1932, she moved to Lansing as a child and graduated from Lansing Eastern High School in 1950. She married her husband James H. Ramey in June of 1951. In addition to enjoying her life as a homemaker, she also enjoyed working for Knapps and JC Penney. Surviving to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kathryn (John) Aldrich, Lee Ann (Dan) Adams and son J. Thomas (Donnette) Ramey; eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Marilyn was preceded in death by her brothers H. James (Marilyn) Henderson, Larry Henderson and her mother Kathryn (Gilbert) Henderson Hoffman. A funeral service to celebrate Marilyn’s life will be held at the Gorsline Runciman Lansing Chapel at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 15, 2015 with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Marilyn’s family will receive friends from 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm on Monday, December 14, 2015. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Greater Lansing Food Bank, PO Box 16224, Lansing, MI 48901.
